Helsinki-Tallinn

We got up pretty much on time and caught the tram to the bus station where we caught the bus to the ferry terminal and arrived 45 mins before the departure thanks to us catching the bus before the one originally planned. By no means our fault, the throngs of people mean that we had a terribly difficult time checking in! We were done only at about 0815 which also meant 15 mins before departure! It was then a really long walk which turned into kinda mad rush as we attempted to board the ship. We made it on time, 5 mins before departure to be exact.

On board, most people have settled down at a variety of restaurants and cafes for what would be breakfast. We checked out the buffet which we intended to try but it looked disappointing, at least Ida was, so we headed to some cafe after we took a walk on the deck. It was COLD. Way cold! Thanks largely to the bellowing wind! So we decided that the wind was too strong and it was too cold so we headed to a cafe and had breakfast. Breakfast for me was porridge! Yes and jam and juice while ida had a sandwich. 2 hours went by pretty quick so after a tour of the store, specifically Ida's favourite, the alcohol section, haha. We disembarked.

Ida's been in Tallinn before so she acted as tour guide with me close behind, luggage in tow! We weren't particular sure where we were headed (although the old town was actually pretty near the ferry terminal, south-west to be exact) so we followed the crowd and 15 mins later, found ourselves at the old town. It was pretty cool I have to admit and the experience would have been perfect without the terrible hassle of the luggage. It didn't help that the streets were of cobblestone, just like it was in Helsinki's city center. Horrible noises and huge efforts pulling it meant that many a times, I ended up carrying it.
